During the summer of 2018, I had the pleasure of being a social media intern for Driftwood Paddle Adventures. Driftwood is a paddleboarding company located in Omaha, Nebraska. It’s goal is to create an environment that incorporates fitness, family, and fun with encouraging exploration. It was an incredible experience to combine my passion for art and design with my passion to stay active outdoors.
My roles included photography, videography, photo and video editing, producing graphics, writing creative content, and managing the Driftwood Instagram account.
I strategically planned each Instagram post to match the feed’s aesthetic by creating a customized Lightroom preset for each photo. This aided in promoting brand professionalism of the Instagram page as a whole.
The Results
Over the course my three month internship, Driftwood increased it’s following by 78%. I strategically planned out each photo so that the Instagram feed would be cohesive to the brand’s image and color scheme. I used Adobe Premiere to create promotional videos. Both videos were reached by upwards of 300 people on Facebook and Instagram.
Through this hands-on learning experience, I gained further knowledge about the creative suite. I primarily used Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere for the majority of the projects.
