In May of 2019, I had the amazing opportunity to work for CKO Kickboxing Omaha as a social media intern. CKO offers high energy fitness classes and promotes wellness.
My roles included photography, photo and video editing, creating graphics, daily posts, writing creative content, and managing CKO’s social media platforms. For Instagram, I strategically planned each post to match the feed’s aesthetic by creating a customized Lightroom preset for each photo. This aided in promoting brand professionalism and consistency on the Instagram page as a whole. I also created graphics for Instagram story highlights and made sure they were always updated for members.
Over the course my eight month internship, CKO increased its following by 64%. Through postings and interactions on Instagram and Facebook, I was able to establish relationships, gain followers, and influence people to join CKO.
Through this hands-on learning experience, I gained further knowledge about the creative suite. I primarily used Lightroom, InDesign, and Photoshop.
