This was a self portrait line drawing that I created for fun. I had just recently purchased my Wacom tablet at the time, and this was the first drawing that I created. I used a photo of myself for reference of the facial features and another photo for the hair. I used Kyle T Webster’s downloadable Photoshop brushes. However, I wanted the brush stroke to be relatively uniform throughout the drawing.
The photo behind the illustration is a photo I took and then edited in Lightroom. I liked the idea of the illustration being intertwined with the birds in the sky.
Projects like this are therapeutic to me. I enjoy doodling in my free time and using line in new and interesting ways to create forms.
