Oak Lake Candle Co. is a charming candle and gift shop located in Ames, Iowa. In February 2020, I joined Oak Lane Candle Co. as a Graphic Design and Social Media Strategist, where I was responsible for managing the brand’s social media presence—primarily focusing on Instagram. My role involved a variety of tasks, including staging and photographing products, editing images, creating custom Lightroom presets, designing Instagram graphics, crafting engaging content, and posting daily. Additionally, I explored innovative strategies to expand the brand’s audience and foster meaningful interactions with followers, ultimately boosting awareness and driving customer sales.
One of my proudest achievements was taking creative lead in all photography projects. Through a series of targeted giveaways and promotions, I successfully helped Oak Lane grow its following by over 1,000 new followers, significantly enhancing the brand’s online presence.
